I turn back to my old "trusted" favorites - it does not matter if it is a pair of jeans, a favorite cook-book, bubble bath scent, or even a movie. I think that is probably true with most of us, we like the familiar the comfortable the tried and true. When I am not feeling well I want chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, the afghan my grandma made for me when I was 12 and a good book - and to be left alone.
I find the same is true when it comes to my scrapbooking as well. I gravitate towards, favorite colours, embellishments and of course the same idea books - I turn to the same ones over and over and each time there is something new to learn and see. This weekend I pulled out one of my all time favorites (and it is not one of the oldie's but it is a goodie for sure!) "the big picture" written by Stacy Jullian I have read this from cover to cover more than once (and I have sung it's praises as well) & each time I find something new. It has been used it for page layouts, as inspiration to write my newsletter, journaling ideas and to get me organized - but I had NEVER done the little tag book at the back - It is right there, punch out the tags and get started, it does not get any easier than that! So. . . that is my goal for this week! To complete my "Big Picture" tags, or at least get a very good start on them, because as I sit and think about it, these tags should be a work in progress. So I am going to work and progress.
How many of you have "the big picture" book and have yet to start and / or complete the tag book at the end of the book - Join me. . . . work and progress along with me.
I think I am turning into a mini album kind of gal! I love the little projects that have a theme and get done quick. I love the sense of accomplishment when they are done. I am letting go of the every photo, in order mentality and finding much more creative freedom - I am excited to scrapbook again.
